HISTORY OF REHEARSAL HOUSE NIGERIA

By Perfect Mcsnup Success-Ebere

Part 1: The Early Journey – Seeds of Teaching (1998–2008).

The story of ReHearsal House Nigeria begins long before its official founding in 2008. At the heart of it all is Perfect Mcsnup Success‑Ebere—a lifelong educator whose earliest teaching experiences started as far back as 1998. At just 16, he was already involved private/home lessons for junior class students in school subjects like Mathematics. Though a to the core science student himself, he always maintained a gentle affection for literature and poetry.

Interestingly, his path toward music wasn’t immediate or obvious. His earliest encounters with music were casual—singing in church choirs and being more of a "nuisance" than a note-perfect chorister. However, he enjoyed Christian rap and music from artists like Ron Kenoly and Hosanna Music, which stirred something deeper. It would be years before this spark would be fanned into a flame.

Part 2: Teaching, Curriculum & God's Plans for The Clueless (2004–2008)

While still outside the formal music world, Perfect Mcsnup's gift for teaching began to evolve into curriculum development. In 2004, he founded the now-defunct Perfect Producers International, a Lagos-based company that organized academic competitions, seminars, and even published the Mcsnup's book on practical chemistry. However, his life began to take a decisive turn— A Notable Experience of "God's several Plans for the Clueless..." while studying Optometry at the University of Benin, his hunger for meaning and a growing awareness of the Lordship of Jesus Christ began to reshape how he viewed learning, life, and labor. It was in this crucible of spiritual questioning, that he stumbled upon a music pocketbook in his elder brother’s collection. What started as a casual interest turned into a sacred journey.

“I didn’t understand the book,” he would later recount, “but I kept reading, on my knees, praying, trusting the Lord who I trust stirred the desire in my heart.”

Eventually, by divine grace, the "fog" lifted—and with understanding came transformation. This was the true beginning of music learning in a whole new light and with new meaning and purpose.

Part 3: The Birth of ReHearsal House (2008–2013)

"The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel... For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them..." (Jeremiah 18:1-6, Eph 2:10. KJV)

ReHearsal House was formally founded in 2008. The name was drawn from the deep spiritual imagery of Jeremiah 18—the potter’s house—where God shapes vessels for His glory.

The depiction in hope, is a Work Man's (God's) workspace, where we pray, he sovereingly, orders the steps; a kinda burning bush, where such as by providence—perhaps merely thinking to come to school, to dream, to pursue, to achieve; whatsoever ambitions— in hope, stumble upon a note, a chord, a new meaning— God willing, the offering of our very own lives— And perhaps, this becomes for all a reason to ponder, Muse, contemplate, and ask why and to what end is even all things; And that this encountering, bring about a workmanship of the Work Man within their own hearts, even as it continues in ours— and towards an Eternal End— A ReHearsal House (work in progress) unto the Day of the Lord.

During the early years, Perfect Mcsnup taught music from his one-room apartment, offering lessons with homegrown, handwritten curriculum. Students came and went, but the foundations were being laid.

A significant part of the mission was becoming clear:

“To teach and develop Applied Musical Education and Artistry, doing so utmostly in hope— as unto the Lord, by his grace, relying on his Spirit's power and for His glory.”

Part 4: 2013 — A Defining Year of Transition.

In 2013 the first classroom space was rented—a garage classroom—and the Academy took on a more public face. With only a couple of students and much uncertainty, howbeit. Home services department launched in January 2013 with the family of Dr. Enabudoso— Again one of several God's Plans for the Clueless...

---

Part 5: Expanding Departments & Divine Providence (2013–2015)

Within the first six months of renting the garage, the building was sold, forcing a move to a three-bedroom apartment, which now served as both home and academy. This move led to the training of the House's first special needs student, birthing what is now the Therapeutic Musicology Program.

Departments also began to crystallize:

- Piano Performance

-Drums

- Guitar

- Violin

- Vocals

Each new instrument introduced was accompanied by curriculum development. What began as handwritten notes for self-study turned into workbooks and structured courses.
