Guitar Lesson Excerpt
Course; GTR 120
Course Title: Introductory Guitar Fingering, scales and Anatomy
Topic: The Guitar Fretboard Anatomy
Welcome to the Rehearsal House GTR 120 lesson excerpts. This lesson is just a demonstration to give students a teaser of what a regular Guitar class session feels like in Rehearsal House.
Our topic in view has its roots (introduction) in the pre-requisite course to GTR 120, that is GTR 100 (A foundational introduction to Guitar Music). GTR 100 is a 3-4 weeks introductory course on Guitar Music. Before we go into further details concerning our topic in view, it will be helpful to make some note-worthy revisions, especially for those entirely new to the Guitar department and to the Guitar courses.
REVISIONS:
The Guitar is a string instrument, there are several other instruments within the string family of musical instruments, some are distant cousins to the Guitar and some are much more closer, the ones we refer to as distant, basically requires for instance a bow to play them, plucking and strumming, is not the fundamental means of playing such, e.g the violin, the more closer ones, follow almost the same pick, pluck or strum rule but are not classified under the name "Guitars" e.g Ukulele.
Here in this department though, our interest is the guitars, there may be a little delve to mention a few things (not in this post though, in class) concerning other close siblings, however, our main focus are those instruments listed under Guitars in Rehearsal House.
Guitar kinds vary, basically two factors determine the variations:
1. Musical Range
2. Strings Intervals
Every other factors may easily be brought in to these two, for instance the difference between a 6 string classical acoustic guitar and a 4 string acoustic bass guitar, is not only the pitch (included in the range) but also the String Intervals
