COM 110: First Principles of Composition.
 For students with majors in Recording Artistry only.

 The Song Idea is the basis of every tune; a folk song Idea which exudes nostalgia upon the composer; is going to require a very certain scale; a very certain scale notes blend, etc. In this course on first principle; we consider duly the song Idea as well as the compositional applications of the Major and Pentatonic Major Scales.

VOC 111: Introduction to Sight Singing
An Elective Vocal course on Sight Singing. 

Notes:

- These weeks begin the Actual journey, establishing the theoritical pathway to becoming a professional Musical Director.

- Studio observation hours or guided demonstrations is incorporated for onsite students.

- Weekly listening labs to enhance awareness of sound textures, musical and production styles.

VOC 120: The Instrumental Characteristics of the Voice.
 Practical considerations: what makes Vocals. 
From Instrumental Characteristics of the Voice to the Practical and objective Examination of each Singers voice type; as defined by their standard range— This Course explores, vocal range, tessitura, performance spectrum, technicalities, expansions and limitations; including Artistry-models— playlists and Repertoire— In-Studio with Coach Live Session Performances. 

VOC 101: Vocal Therapy/Clinic Sessions Cont'd.

For Musical Directing with Recording Artistry Majors Only. 

Pre and Post Session rehearsal Clinic to Ascertain Artists Vocal Health status, as well as extra vocal care routines, relaxation, vocal health routines, and simple therapeutic practices for voice control—

• Tone deafness Clinic Sessions (2-4 ses)
• Tone Correction Therapy Session (1 ses)
• Open Throat Clinic Session (2 ses)
• Open Throat Therapy Session (1 ses.)
•Depth, pitch and Range Therapy Session (2 ses).

Mandatory Courses

-MUS 110 – Introduction to the Language of Music

  Indepth Introductory Studies on the Language of Music— the Stave, Notes and their Durations (Values); the Treble, Bass, Alto and Tenor Stave; the Grand Stave. The Course Also covers preliminary musical Scales— Diatonic Major Scale as a representative of the Heptatonic Scales and Pentatonic Major scale as representative of the Penta Scales. Students are expected to practically explore the sound of the Major and Pentatonic Major Scales across respective keys (12 Keys) on Major Instruments.

-SOL 110 – Solmization for Ear Training.

 The Ear Training by Solmization Course begins from the First Semester, Students explore the sounds of the Sol-fa notes: from Tonic to the leading note! Students begin to pick Sol-fa notes of songs by ear and without any reference Instrument in SOL 110.

-NMC 110 – Note Matching Clinic 2

  This Course is a recommendation for Students in need of additional Sol-fa Lessons and exercises.

Instrumental Electives – Choose One Instrument.

Choose two courses from any one Instrument.

PIANO COURSES

PNO 110– Preliminary Piano Techniques.

 The Preliminary Piano Techniques focuses on developing Finger dexterity for Piano playing, the Lesson adapts the Piano Penta Scale as well as the first family of the Major Scale (RH Piano Only) for thorough mastery of this Technique; Preliminary Melodious Exercises are Also covered.

PNO 111– Pianoforte 1: Introductory Sight Reading for Piano Performance.

 This Course is a beginner Course on Piano sight Reading; it includes the Rudiments of Piano sheet Music and preparatory sheet Music exercises and repertoire.

GUITAR COURSES:

-GTR 110– Preliminary Finger-style Technique.

The Major Scale And the Pentatonic Major Scale in focus; practice of Melodious exercises based on the Guitar Finger-style.

-GTR 111 Introductory Sight Reading for Guitar.

 This Course is a beginner Course on sight Reading for Guitar; it includes the Rudiments of Guitar sheet Music and preparatory sheet Music exercises and repertoire.

DRUM COURSES:

-DRM 110– Rudimentary Drumming 1. 

 Singles, Doubles, In-lines— More on Strokes. Introduction to the Hi-hat and reading of Note Values, from Semibreve (whole notes) to 16th (semiquaver) notes.

DRM 111 Introductory Sight Reading for Percussion.

 Single Line non-pitched Percussion Stave. Drum Nomenclature on the Drum Stave (5 lines and 4 Spaces).
