2026/27 VOCATIONAL MUSICIANSHIP SESSION

Core Course: Violin Performance

The Violin Performance Majors Programme is a professional vocational pathway designed for students seeking structured training in violin performance, musicianship, ensemble practice, performance preparation, and progressive professional development.

Students may enter the programme through any of the Institute's approved admission pathways and progress through a structured sequence of Skill Levels, leading toward professional diploma certification.

The programme is structured progressively, allowing students to develop from foundational violin musicianship through intermediate performance, transition training, professional practice, and advanced musicianship.

The First Batch admission period includes:

Students are expected to complete the relevant clearance and onboarding processes within the First Batch admission period.

EARLY BIRD PRELIMINARY COURSE

First Batch Resumption

21 September 2026

The Early Bird Preliminary Course for the First Batch resumes from 21 September 2026, providing students with an opportunity to commence preliminary learning activities while admission clearance, onboarding and orientation processes continue through the First Batch period.

FLEXIBLE CLASS SCHEDULING

ReHearsal House Institute operates a flexible vocational training schedule designed to accommodate the different academic, professional and personal commitments of students.

Following clearance and orientation, students' class arrangements are organized according to available programme schedules and centre placement.

VIOLIN PERFORMANCE

DIPLOMA SKILL-LEVEL PATHWAY

LEVEL 1 — FOUNDATIONAL

Duration: 16 Weeks
Tuition: ₦100,000

Level 1 introduces students to the fundamental principles of violin playing and musicianship.

What Students Begin To Develop

Violin posture and basic instrument handling
Violin tuning and open-string exercises
Fundamental rhythm and pulse
Introduction to staff notation
Simple melody playing
Foundational musicianship and listening skills

Level 1 is the foundation upon which subsequent Violin Performance Skill Levels are developed.

LEVEL 2 — FIRST DEGREE BEGINNER

Duration: 16 Weeks
Tuition: ₦120,000

Level 2 develops the student's foundational technique into more purposeful musical performance.

Major scales and tonal awareness
Tone production and tone shaping
Beginner fingerboard mapping
Introductory music theory
Ear training and aural development
Progressive violin repertoire
Developing technical confidence and musical expression

BEYOND LEVEL 2

The Violin Performance Majors pathway continues through progressively advanced Skill Levels across the three diploma tracks.

18 MONTHS DIPLOMA

4 Skill Levels

Foundational → Beginner → Intermediate → Professional Transition

2 YEARS DIPLOMA

6 Skill Levels

Includes the complete 18 Months pathway with additional intermediate and transition training.

3 YEARS ADVANCED DIPLOMA

9 Skill Levels

Extends the pathway into advanced transition, professional performance development, portfolio preparation, recital preparation and advanced musicianship.

Tuition for Skill Levels beyond Level 2 will be published as the applicable tuition schedule is released.

PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Violin Performance Majors receive training within the wider ReHearsal House Institute system, where instrumental development is integrated with broader vocational musicianship.

Tuition is published by Skill Level according to the applicable programme structure.

Admission, registration, assessment and certification charges are separate where applicable and are communicated as part of the admission and programme process.
