Concerning Our Programs 3: STAGES 3 & 4.
Program 2 stage 3 and 4...
Stage 3 is the first stage of program 2, program 2 comprises of two stages, that is stage 3 and 4. Program 2 is exposure and performance driven! All basic skills viz Fingering, Coordination, Ear Training, Sight-reading, Language of Music, Breathing, Instinctiveness, Posture, etc, must have been thoroughly acquired at this stage, also a student must have completed all the "012 phases" before they are eligible to resume in program 2.
The minimum repertoire a student may possess at the end of stage 3 is "036" which in addition to the previous 012, implies that the student by the end of stage 3 should possess a minimum of "048 repertoire".
Students who do not possess the minimum repertoire at the end of any given stage, may apply for an extended time, extensions, do not require additional lecture time, but require additional workshop time, payable fees for extensions are arranged with the bursary unit of the house and may vary depending on the time for extension being required.
Some aspects of this stage includes:
5,040 Diatonic and Pentatonic Major scale blending, following the RH formula for scale blending (Scn!=scale number factorial), Assignments and exercises follow these. Also, scale blending for the following Minor scales are included:
Natural Minor
Pentatonic Minor
Harmonic Minor
Melodic Minor
Other scales, numbering a total of 20 new scales are shortlisted for program 2. The theories, blendings and applications of these scales are all covered in program 2. However, scales isn't all there is in this highly extensive stages of the program. There are no stage 3 recitals, but stage 3 students serve as backup performers (instrumentalists) for stage 1 Recording Artists covers as well as featured guests in Recital sessions.
Stage 3 Duration: 12 weeks.
Stage 4 Duration: 12 weeks.
Stage 4, includes students recitals, additional "048" repertoire bringing is to a total of "096" repertoire which every student is expected to possess to be eligible for the next program. Stage 4 also includes the "sponsored sessions" every student is expected to host 2 to 3 sponsored professional musical concerts before graduation from the RH Applied Musical Programs, the first of these sponsored sessions comes up in stage 4, the sponsored sessions are named after the sponsors, for instance: Orizon session, is sponsored by Orizon company, etc. These amongst others are the pre-requisite to be eligible for program 3.
