Recommended Ages: 3 - 4 years.
Core Instrument: Piano
Duration: 3 Semesters (12 Weeks per Semester)

Welcome

Welcome to Kindergarten Musicals Year 1, the first stage of the ReHearsal House Childhood Musicals pathway.

Designed for young learners beginning their formal musical education, this program introduces children to the language of music through joyful exploration, practical musicianship, and carefully structured lessons.

During this year, pupils begin developing listening skills, keyboard familiarity, rhythmic confidence, and early music reading while nurturing creativity, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

What Your Child will Learn

Ear Training

Children begin developing sensitive listening skills through carefully selected musical repertoire, interval recognition, rhythm activities, and guided listening experiences. This early exposure supports long-term musical perception and lays foundations for absolute pitch development.

Piano Foundations

Using age-appropriate exercises and melodies, pupils learn correct posture, keyboard orientation, finger independence, and simple piano performance techniques.

Solfege & Singing

Children learn to sing using movable-do solfege while developing pitch accuracy, musical memory, confidence, and expressive singing.

Sight Reading

Year One introduces children to the fundamentals of music notation, including note values, rhythmic patterns, the music staff, and basic score reading.
