SKILL LEVEL STRUCTURE:
LEVEL 1 – FOUNDATIONS OF MUSICAL DIRECTING.
Preliminary Course: 3 Weeks.
Core Courses:
MDR 100 – Introduction to Musical Directing.
Overview of the Musical Directing spectrum— Voice types and functionalities; families of Musical Instruments in the context of Musical Directing— for Instance, a Vocal Director, needs to clearly understand the range of each voices of the Treble range: F3 - C6 on the Average; and under what musical context each voice type is most effective!
VOC 100: Introduction to Vocals
Mandatory Courses
-MUS 100 – Introduction to Applied Music
Builds awareness of musical structure— the Language of music, sound elements— including pitch and duration; a Foundational awareness of time in music and the scale of nature— with an introduction to their creative use in production.
-SOL 100 – Introduction to Solfege
An Introduction to Ear Training, begining with Note distinction and progressing on to Establishing pitch recognition; this Course is the foundation for interval training, key mastery, chords and chord progressions identification by Ear— the genesis of ear development — foundational for critical listening and technical balancing.
-NMC 100 – Note Matching Clinic
A Contemporary of SOL 100, Focusing on Sol-fa Singing and Note Matching Drills; An Introduction to Key Mastery Course in subsequent Level 3.
Elective (Instrumental Orientation) – Choose One
To enhance musicianship and sound context.
-PNO 100– Piano Keys Anatomy.
An Introduction to Piano Keyboard Course, developing keen Awareness of the Anatomy and nomenclature of Piano Keys; the placement of Musical notes (pitch on the Piano) beginning with C4 as Middle C; and the respective pitch notations on the Piano and the Music Stave.
-GTR 100– Guitar Fretboard Anatomy
An Introduction To the Musical Keys on the Guitar Fretboard; An Intense three weeks of Memorisation and Mastering every note on the Guitar Fret board!
-DRM 100– Introduction to Drummers Essentials— Kits, Stave And Strokes.
From the Use And relevance of the Drum Pads, Drums sticks, Drum brushes to the single line neutral stave for non-pitched percussions to the five line neutral drum stave to the preliminary strokes up to paradiddles; This Course Introduces the Drum Student to the Essentials for Drum Music.
