WHY YOU CANNOT LIVE THE LIFE OF CHRIST.

The Scripture says concerning the last days:

2Tim. 3:5

"They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly..." (NLT)

The King James Version renders it thus:

2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV)  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

It clearly implies a form: an outward appearance, something that feels like it is, but yet it is not! It is false! It lacks the power of godliness! It is only an aesthetics of a sort, a false labour of the soul-life, not having the rest of the Spirit -that means, not having got the Eternal Life which is in the Son (Christ)! It is a question of the power of a Life! If there is no power, there will only be vain efforts, efforts and loads of efforts, all to no avail! 

1 John 5:11

[11]And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Life is God's prerogative! Only Him can give spiritual life! And He is Perfect (thorough and complete) in all that he does. Therefore, Why should he commit His Life to Just anyone? Because, they said few words, shed few tears, and stood before a crowd saying: I accept Jesus as my Lord and personal savior? The glorious God is way beyond all that in his intelligence! He never commits himself to man, remember he KNOWS (intimately, personally, thoroughly) not just man, but all that which is (lies within) in All Men (Humans). His fiery gaze goes through the whole earth searching the deep reins, thoughts, motives of men's heart! He proves: why the man who is confessing Christ is doing so, why the man is shedding the tears, and declaring to the "whole world" a commitment to Jesus, and he knows which "Jesus" it is, that this man has heard about and is committing himself to! Yes, shall the Judge of all the earth not do what is right? (Gen. 18:25)

Therefore, He whose prerogative alone it is to give life, determines when and where and upon whom he will bestow his life! He judges, the soil of the heart; is this ground truly broken, is there yet any hardness of this soil (heart) that should pose a hindrance to him/her accepting fully all I have declared (testified) concerning my Son? Does this heart even know? Is it any wit ready to know and live with the implications? It is a deep heart investigation! 

The head may be willing to accept God's judgment upon the world for instance, but, alas, is the heart willing to receive that judgement and thus live by that judgement? For when it does, there is immediately going to be radical and personal consequences! The heart is afraid of personal implications, the head is not necessarily afraid, in fact the head (mental accent: the mind) loves to have added information: howbeit about God! The flesh would always prefer the tree of knowledge of good and evil to the tree of Life! Thus must God need to prove the soil condition of our hearts from the very start of a supposed desire to be a Christian. He must prove the heart deeply, for it is there that the relationship begins, it is there that the child training (growing up) will be battled upon -therein is the battle ground: OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART THE MOUTH SPEAKS (Lk. 6:45; Mt. 12:34).

Thus, God who alone has that prerogative to give life (not the preacher, not the christian writer, not the gospel article, not even the letters of the bible! Yes, one can be a renowned bible scholar and not know eternal life in living experience); this Life is God's Life, therefore no man can commit it to another: Each Man has to be BORN OF GOD in order for each of them to have the Life of God! The birth has to be first hand: born of God himself! A first generation offspring! Not born of another that was born of God, never, there is no place for such! Since therefore it is only the Lord God, who can give this spiritual birth, this spiritual life; then it is He alone who knows upon and what heart condition, there must be in place in order to grant this priceless birth! Thus many who have gone forth for altar calls, many who have shed much tears in their bedroom, but have not yet come to a "good soil" condition, but continue to attempt by the energies of their soul life, to "live-out" the things their head has gathered about the life of God seen in Christ, continue to struggle to have a "peace of mind" which howbeit is not really there; deep down there is no peace of mind, but they "know" (not the living knowledge though) the fact about the Christian life, that it is a life of peace, therefore, they cannot but keep trying to have this "peace of mind" but no! In reality, they are shaken in the very depths! Oh that this false position created by the souls transcendency were a light thing, but it is the very opposite, for indeed, it stands in vehement opposition even to the true work of the word upon the heart, which needs so much breaking up! The heart's much needed breaking up is not only halted by this coming into the center by the soul, the soul now dictating the meaning of the spiritual life and providing so-called expressions and experiences of peace, love and joy, now seeks to "undo(?)" that which the word of God has set forth to doing: breaking the hardness of the heart (soil) in order to bring upon it true repentance, but the heart deceived by the masquerading works of the soul, has no place any more for such deep, thorough work, he thinks to himself, "oh I am already seeing -expressing the fruits of the Spirit(ual) life!" He soon even begins to compare himself with others, who he is not seeing any Spirit(ual) fruits in, even though they have been (he supposes) Christians long before himself! And most troubling he has all the facts of the bible in his head "supporting" his stance!

Alas that he knew the prerogative of Life from start to finish is God's to grant! And that God cannot be mocked, the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jer. 17:10), therefore the Lord proves it, searches it, tries (judges) its motives and purposes! It takes a lot to break the hard grounds of the heart of man! The word of God (the living word) must have to be sown truly, and Without any interruptions of the birds of the air! For several, the word have been sown a dozen times and a dozen times the birds of the air have come to steal it away: because their hearts could not understand the word! And why is that so? The hardness of the heart! The word sown only seems like a story (parable) told, there is eyes to see, yet not perceiving! The birds of the air comes and steals, so there is no room for fruits at all. For some others, there's some immediate excitement, some delight on the word and the things the word has shown, but again, it is not a heart knowledge, the hard grounds of the heart has not yet been broken! So, when they go forth, by what (Spirit) do they attempt to go forth? Soon it is shown -by and by they are offended by the word! The same word of their excitement now becomes the word of their offense! And again why is that? The hardness of the heart, there is need to know where one is, is the heart still hard and requires further breaking to truly soften it up? Remember, no man judges (tries) the heart (Man has no art to read the heart!), it is God alone!  Therefore, the needed prayer might be "oh grant Lord that my heart be truly broken, for it is yet hard..." 

Such hardness always stands even in the way of receiving the things of the Spirit of God; are not even our prejudices another side of our heart-hardness? The Lord God, must prepare the grounds of the heart first, thus he sends forth his living word, which unfortunately today, the world and Christendom vehemently opposes and resists this word of the cross, which God has been pleased to thereby save them that are perishing! Thus the Spirit declares today when you hear his word, do not harden your heart as they did in the provocation (Heb. 3:8,15).

If the grounds have been made good? Why, it is God's good pleasure to give unto us the kingdom, but, he must see to it, that the kingdom is given to those who are CHILDREN OF THE KINGDOM!

It is such who are born not of the will of man but of God! The heart truly by The breaking work of the word of God, has come into true and full committal to EVERYTHING God has given in his Son, and yes, everything without discrimination! Things not of earth but of the heaven! Things not temporal but eternal! Things not worldly but spiritual! This birth moves the hearts interest to the source of its Life! Therefore, its interest in this present evil world- its systems, its governments, its ideas, its glories, increasingly meets the judgement of the Judge of his own heart!

Its interest in his self life: his own glory, his own ideals, his own prejudices, his self-preoccupation (what I like and don't like: this my personality), his own righteousness, his demands, also increasingly meets the judgement of the Judge of his own heart!

There is not going to be an interest in the Man of Sin, though this Man be very much present with him, to tempt him, to test him; and thereby, he shall learn even so much about the kind of battles that this spiritual life is exercised (trained) by! Yet there is a radical disinterest in this man of sin within his soul life! This disinterest brings about an exposing of the dark works of this man rather than an excusing or condoning or making of room of it. He would broken-heartedly say: "I deserve to die, I am that Man..." rather than say: "You caused me to act thus- actions and reactions are equal and opposite!" On the other side, he would not seek the blood of bulls and goats nor his own fig leaves for the covering of his nakedness, but the blood of Christ! Thus, not to self-pitily go about the whole street saying "I have done this and that..." for fig leaves always thinks to offer something in order to merit God's forgiveness, but no! 

Not The Labour of my hands can fulfill thy laws demands, could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow, all for sin could not atone, thou must save and thou alone.

Progressively The Life will know onward progress! The Cross, by which "the man is crucified to the world and the world to the man" will become the only glory: glory in nothing but the Cross of Christ! 

But the seat of this battle is from the start the heart condition. Everything in the world: the daily news and all events/activities are always working some-what upon the heart: either to its hardening or its rebuke. If the Word of God is desired truly, then it will bring a heart judgement to the respective events in the world (including the daily news). It will convict the heart of its own sinfulness, its own hardness; and should the man whose heart is convicted stay upon the matter before the Lord in prayers, the Lord will avenge even those enemies of his only begotten Son (lurking about the heart of the man).
