Chapter 3 | Piano Performance & Keyboards
CHAPTER THREE
PIANO PERFORMANCE & KEYBOARDS
The Piano Performance & Keyboards Department is the oldest department in House University — launched at the very inception of the Academy. It began humbly, with just a single keyboard: a Casio CTK model — either the CTK-550 or its precursor — and only one course offering: Piano Performance.
This pioneering department laid the foundation for what would become a cornerstone of House University's practical and theoretical approach to musical training. Over the years, it has evolved and expanded to reflect both technological advancements and the growing creative needs of modern music.
Today, the department offers a dynamic range of programs, structured to equip students with traditional excellence and contemporary fluency:
Current Course Offerings:
(Foundational to Advanced; Classical to Contemporary)
(For Modern Worship, Live Stage, Band & Studio Sessions)
-Piano Performance & Keyboards
(Combined proficiency track across acoustic and digital keys)
(Fusing digital DJing with live keyboard triggering and performance)
(an advanced specialization under the KEYS Department, designed for pianists who desire to go beyond technique into creative expression, original composition, and artistic performance. Evolving from the Piano Performance program, this course emphasizes bagatelle compositions, original piano scores, and studio-recital integration, equipping students to become not only skilled performers but composers and artistic storytellers through the piano).
(Exploring MIDI, Synths, DAW integration, and sound design with keys)
From the classic upright piano to MIDI controllers, from sight-reading to synth programming, this department remains a trailblazer — training versatile musicians ready for stage, studio, and beyond.
(Refined creative path under the KEYS Department designed for students whose focus goes beyond performance into expressive and stylistic interpretation, solo artistry, and arrangement on modern keyboard setups).
